Pretty economical I thought?

Good fun though!!

Buy a second car, diesel clio or something.

You would also be able to limited mileage the S which would put extra funds towards the second car.

so was wondering if there is anything you can buy for the car that will up the MPG enough to allow me to keep my baby.
A Nissan Micra.

Pick one up for about £500, Insure for about the same and enjoy 50mpg and care free motoring. If the car only lasts the year it's still worth about £100 in scrap.

Doing enough miles in a beater pretty much pays for it self on the fuel and wear and tear you avoid with the S2000.

It's seriously worth sitting down and doing the maths before dismissing the idea of a second car.

this ^

Paid £700 for a 1 owner w plate micra with 12 months T&T

axa insured the s for £25 a month and they mirrored the ncb onto the micra and thats £20 a month

I use my s as my daily and for work use. I get given a car allowance and can buy whatever I want, they cover my fuel at the hmrc rate, if you dont get an allowance you should be getting 45p per mile.

I have business use on my insurance and its around 500 a year total for 20k miles, I'm 32 no points or convictions or claims

I cant stand driving a shitter everyday while a nice car is just sat there doing nothing, but everyone is different

I believe there are options for a longer 6th gear for better economy, the reason I'm looking into it is so I can have a shorter ratio in the diff but still drive to scotland in relatively comfortable cruising revs

If you'll be driving for work, they should be covering expenses.

How much MPG are you getting exactly? If it's too low, you may have an issue such as an o2 sensor needing replacing?

Or you might just need to adjust your driving style - doing the motorway at 65 instead of 75 can work wonders over 1000's of miles...
