Default Mountain Bikes & S2000's ?!

Hi

Does anybody here carry a bike on their S2k?

I haven't got mine yet (about to take the plunge with the order within the next week), so I'm not sure, but I would have thought a bike rack that fits on saloon boots would fit? Or maybe some adaptation of the boot rack's that are available?

Thanks in advance
Jo

Thanks all - the classic-carrier.nl link doesn't work for me, but I'll take a look later

Looks like it's possible anyway, one more objection ticked off the list, equals one step closer to the order

Would you not need to be careful about the weight of the bike(s) on the boot - I looked into boot mounted racks when I had my MGF and the weight of the rack and the bike apparently would have warped the boot lid - may be worth checking this out first!

But buy the S anyway - much more fun than the bike!!

Hi, I currently have Craig Armstrongs bike rack - not sure what type it is, but it fits. I took 2 mountain bikes a few hundred miles up and down the M6 a couple of weeks back with no problems at all. This one attaches to the boot lid, but is relatively light. Even in the very strong winds and rain we encountered it stayed in place and the boot suffered no damage that a quick polish couldn't sort out

Definately possible. If you need more info when you have the S, let me know and I'll post pictures if Craig hasn't taken it back by then.

I purchased this Saris rack from R33 and it does the job perfectly. It holds my bike fine and I can strap the wheels onto the top. It has six straps to hold it in place so it won't move back and forth or side to side and the feet are all adjustable and rubber so won't mark the paint.

Sorry folks, I sold my bike rack ages ago. But it was a good rack. It was a Saris Bones. I used to carry two heavy downhill bikes on it.
