We should start a petition. I'm none too clever with the wording of these things, but if one of the board's more eloquent members would like to draft one up, the following site provides free online hosting

Madness!
So a good friend has discovered their partner has been cheating on them. They decide they are going to stab the ex (as you do).
However, I know the police have been alerted to the threats and are with the ex to provide protection.
The friend phones me and tells me they are going to kill the two lovers and top themself. I persuade them not to.
Obstructing the police?
Two other points:
(Mark) I don't believe in grovelling to the police. If some jumped up twerp decides to give me a hard time I will reciprocate in kind via the complaints procedure. I reckon I have the time, money and ingenuity to give them at least as much grief as they can give me. If more people did this then it might remind some police that they are public servants not a private militia. These jerks ruin the reputation of all the good officers that undoubtedly exist.

If they were genuinely concerned about accident rates, they'd just let him stand there and leave an empty police car parked there - every body would continue to slow down through the "accident blackspot" and it would cost them nothing 'cos they could just leave an empty van there!

Unbelievable, the world has gone mad. The police are generally good people, this just makes enemies of them and the justice system.
Me blood pressure's rising big style at this one. I am going to have to take myself away and do tai chi or something....deep breaths David deep breaths.
