OK, very rarely do I see a car for sale and think about buying it.

I usually either buy it or think no way, but now

Hmmm!!!

not worth the money

if it had winning history, maybe

if it was gorgeous, maybe

most likely major problems lie ahead with that car

I saw it with ultra low mileage Ferraris

not turning a wheel is very bad news for cars

There was a time that I lusted after one of these, but that looks bloody awful - especially the interior......and only 250bhp.

Its time has passed. It's like Delta Integrale's and E30 M3's today. They were once motoring icons but are now just old hat in terms of styling and performance.

I like the look of them too, but a 150bhp Fiesta would have it for breakfast, and the interior is horrific!
Am I the only one that thinks 'ordinary' cars are getting too capable of doing high-speeds and high cornering speeds?

And am I the only one that puts driver involvement/enjoyment above outright pace?

Frankly, I couldn't give a f*** whether some new uber-hot-hatch was faster than my car (whatever that should be), as long as my car was more enjoyable and involving to drive. I've driven a number of 'modern' hot-hatches and performance cars, and found most to be underwhelming as a driving experience - a 15y.o. 205GTi would be more rewarding than a 350Z, a CTR, a Seat Leon Cupra, or even an Impreza WRX.

I'm not saying I want a 205 (frankly maintenance could be a nightmare, and I'm not that handy with a spanner), I'm just saying that comments like 'a modern 150bhp Fiesta could have it' rather miss the point of such cars.

Most amusing recent case...some chav found PistonHeads and, on a thread about the NSX, posted up how the Focus ST would be quicker!
1) Yeah, right!
2) Who cares anyway...I know where my
