MOT Pass but

With the cat on my recent (bu**sh1t) MOT the emissions were so low, CO was 0.00% and HC 2ppm they could hardly be measured, maybe with a decat they are still within spec? Makes me wonder why the road tax is so high.

I believe it is called "the S2000 tax"
If it's for our car, it's twice as expensive as it should be

Discussed this with the guy that did my MOT , he said he thought without a CAT it would still all be in the green, My HC reading 1 ppm Co 0



I didnt ask if he would pass mine with a decat , he just thought all the readings would be green.

my mate has a 2003 s2k and it was mot'd today with decat pipe and was passed, apparantly all in the green. different garage to mine.

It's an mot fail if the cat has been removed even if it were to pass the emissions test.

Its measured on that stupid CO2/km figure that you get in the V5 and that figure is an official one from the manufacturer. The government then took that figure and taxed cars on it and the S2k got right stung.
