MOT fail help

err what were they doing brake testing it!!!! it' says on the print out they have 'car is fitted with a diff, do not brake test'

mine's being MOT'd on friday and i was wondering whether i should tell them it's got an LSD..

... Now i know i have to tell them.

is this true about the LSD and therefor should of passed, the normal driving brakes all came back fine so not sure why the handbrake failed

its just the mechanism inside the caliper, brakes are OK and probably the cables move ok(check this first) as the pads wear the piston sits further out of the caliper to keep the face of the pad in contact with the disc, if the auto adjust does not work the movement of the handbrake fails to make contact with the piston so the pads dont move. The fact that the normal brakes are ok means the self adjustment for the pads is working its just the "ratchet" mechanism that clicks up a notch if the hand brake movement exceeds a certain distance, this is probably worn or gummed up with crap.
