Default Morris Multivis 5W40

I have been struggling to find any 5W40 oil from any UK outlets in the south east that I usually try and after coming back from a recent classic car show someone suggested that British Company Morris were very good and had all kinds of rare types. I've found you can pick up 5L for just over £30, and ordering two bottles gives free delivery too! A quick search revealed no hits on here for Morris...

Has anyone got any knowledge of the company and whether this oil is any good?

Personally, I would stick to a well known brand when it comes to oil. Castrol Edge is the prefered choice, available from Opie Oils in the trader section or from Halfords and other retail stores.

I just last week ordered a FUCHS 5w40 fully synthetic 5 litres from Opie Oils, £29.15, delivered to my house within 2 days.

If only I'd known - I ordered 2x 4ltr oil on Friday as well as a set of spark plugs!

EDIT: Just checked, the WEEKEND code gives you 15% off, not 25%. I ended up getting 15% off whilst talking to them over the telephone anyway, phew!

I thought you could get Castrol 5w40 in Halfords?

No way would I be skimping on an unknown brand of oil when you can go for Castrol for a similar price.

Morris OIls are pretty well known, they are largely more in the classic car market than high performance modern cars.

Not to say that the oils are bad, we use Morris classic car oil in the E-Type, but I would not say that modern fully synths are their speciality, like Castrol Edge.

Nothing wrong with the company though, they are very well known in classic car circles.

Looks like a decent set of specs on their oils to be fair.
