Default Moonrock 04 vs MCB 02 First Days driving experience

First days driving new Moonrock 04 has been a complete revelation, as regardless of all comments, until you drive it you haven't a clue.

The car has been improved to such an extent in terms of general feel and roadholding , as new RE050 are now low profiles. Not soft just more road feel ?

02 was good however now you point to a corner and it is immediate and direct.

Drive it first before you make negative comments, as everything has been improved immeasurably.

The gear change is slicker, car is more responsive, absolutely everything that matters has been improved.

No VTEC yet, but im sure looking forward to it.

Met Derek Warwick today at dealer, and he said that in his opinion all the changes have been made based on customer feedback, and to make 04 car into a next generation sports car.

I concur, absolutely fantastic to drive. 02 was good but 04 is exceptional

Just my view, hope not to controversial

I think we need some pics of the moonrock ASAP to prove that it is, indeed, a much better drive

Michael, could you please refrain from posting this sort of stuff ..... upgrading to an 04 would mean having to go back to work and I just can't face that yet

Too controversial? Here? No chance....
Gear change slicker?????
Race cars do not have `slick` changes. They have notchy as hell positive almost digital boxes. Boxters have slick changes, not S`s.

But we know where its REALLY at. Original old school.

Post a pic, want to see the colour again.

More detail on the handling please, does it under steer more, can you go round corners faster, and is it more planted on sweeping bends. Tells us, and make it long and incisive
Well need to know

No significant understeer, pretty neutral

The handling is far more predictable than the 02, far better at taking fast bends, just feels more planted than previous model.

No twitching of back end as the balance is more neutral.

I am sure RE050 low profile tyres are responsible for higher level of grip, however the overall feel builds more confidence to take bends faster and more controlled than previously.

Compared with Z4, TT, both feel detached, from the road, not so with the 04 you are able to gauge road conditions through the wheel, possibly due to ESP being recalibrated.

Overall improvements are, ride quality is more compliant, general ride is more relaxed, and more relaxed on difficult roads
