Default Modified F20c UK Engine Builder?

Morning everyone. As you might have read in another thread I started, I've decided to NOT replace my S2000, but to refurbish and modify the engine instead, to make it 'the best road-going S2000 it can be' (plus a few track days a year).

It'll be staying normally aspirated (I've already done the supercharger 'thing') and I want it to be as driveable as OEM (or as close as possible), retaking the reliability and 9000rpm redline, but up the power to no more than 300bhp (at the crank). I also have an ITB itch to scratch!

I realise this will likely involve some internal modification, so I'm looking for people (or recommendations) that have done similar, with proven reliability. Most seem to have done this sort of thing aimed at track monsters, but I'm mainly looking for something nice to drive on the road.

I've already initiated contact with Clockwise Motion, Veysport, TGM, Urge Designs and 4Piston, although I'd rather stick to UK builders if possible.

If you have experience, or know directly of someone who does, please let me know. I'm not interested in Internet heresay, I can read all that myself. Genuine experience only please.

Thanks all, hopefully the hive mind of S2ki can point me in the right direction!

Cheers
Chris

Have you tried CPL racing? They do some big Honda builds.

To be honest if if aiming for 300HP na i would be looking at doing a K20 / 24 sell the F or put it away in storage

i know the F takes a beating Fi but going Na 300hp i dont think it will be reliable it has been done JDM pistons F22 rods carnt remeber which crank was used

Engine builder have a look for Jeremy Allen in the us Very well known for Honda builds aslo there is a guy over here running Jeremy Allen engine in a drag civic one of the fastest in uk / europe - Big man ting performance ( yeah i know the name is meh but hes proven guy at the drag strip )

Look into the K series would be my advice

Make it simpler :
go for 260-270 bhp to look after reliability.
Get rid of 150kg. Lighter doors / bonnet / battery /seats etc.
I was behind a vx220 today. Bloody thing weighs naff all, and gets up the road with 148bhp just fine.

Drop 150kg! no passenger seat, lighter bonnet and doors made of paper mache? Battery is pretty small already, next stop pp3? No stereo, a/c, air pump, spare wheel, Jack etc. Making it lighter might be very expensive if lightweight suspension components are next. Although I have no idea really what things weigh.

to be honest I was taking a wild guess.
You get my drift though..
A friend of mine has an Ep3, stripped out circa 150kg weight loss. It's sporting a sliippy diff too.
you can imagine, it's effective on track. Plus it's running at around 260bhp.
panels are where the start, wheels, battery, air con (definitely), lighter windows? Lighter exhaust?
Hell.. also..who needs a roof!

There's a few Foucart F20c's in France making 300bhp but they're full on race motors, not really streetable bar the odd joint between stages, or capable of passing emissions. I don't see you getting something with that power out of 2 litres without sacrificing a lot of road manners.

Thanks all for your thoughts. I haven't heard of CPL, I'll look into them.

Regarding other thoughts. I'm not stripping the car for weight saving, I want a comfortable road car. And I'm not K swapping it. The F series is the essence of the S2000, so it's definitely staying.

There are thousands of speculations and opinions on the interwebs. What I'm looking for is a builder who has a proven track record with the F20c. So if anyone has suggestions related to this, please keep em coming.

Thanks
Chris

Just looked into Jeremy Allen, I gather he's the builder at Inline Pro. Good builder, by all accounts, but not in the UK.
