Modern Classic Car Insurance
Anyone got modern classic car insurance on their S2K?
I'm being quoted what appear very good prices and the only drawback I can find (for the use I need) is you dont earn any NCB.

I have a classic car policy (not on the S2000) as you say the drawbacks include no NCB, usually required to be garaged within x metres of the house and sometimes hours of use can be limited. Its worth checking these out.
A big benefit however is you may get an agreed value!
Out of interest, which company is it your looking at?

Who is that with Matt? I'm insured with Classicline on a 'modern classic' insurance. Essentially they are a specialist car insurance company that will insure cars like the S. I do have to garage it overnight if at home and I ended up getting limited mileage insurance. But for me (2nd car, 0 NCB - 'cos they are all on the other car, no history with performance car, City dweller...) they were the cheapest quote. Also they cover track days and airfield days in the quote, with some small print, but worth it.

One I'm looking at is www.peterbestinsurance.co.uk as an example.
My premium with Chris Knott was £390 last year which is very good price.
Only reason I thinking is I may opt out of the co car scheme, buy another car and use the S2k occasionally anyway (which is similar to now). Just trying to work out the options.

How the hell is a jap roadster any kind of 'classic'
?
?
1. of the highest class, esp in art or literature
2. serving as a standard or model of its kind; definitive
3. adhering to an established set of rules or principles in the arts or sciences: a classic proof
4. characterized by simplicity, balance, regularity, and purity of form; classical
5. of lasting interest or significance
6. continuously in fashion because of its simple and basic style: a classic day dress
Even point 6 is somewhat applicible.
None of which your BMW ever will be but for many the S2000 will. I was expecting to see an exclusion entry for the S2000 as a result of m1bjr's bitterness but it's not there. *shrug*
