Mixing similar tyres.......
I have read plenty on mixing tyre brands front to rear and on the same axel etc etc, so I was wondering.......
I currently have Toyo T1-S's all round, the rears are going south and will need changing soon so do you guys think it would be OK to put the new T1-R on the rear (from my understanding its a development of the T1-S) and stick with the original T1-S's on the front?

When I changed from the original tyres to Toyo's a few
months ago, my supplier couldn't get T1's for the rear -
He advised not to mix T1-R's and T1-S's, so I went with
T1-S's all round

Mark, try Blackcircles for a price. The local fitting centre wasn't too careful with the wheels though.
The Civic VTi has them. Bit soft-sidewalled after the recommended Dunlops, but excellent wet/dry adhesion. Bit crap in the ice, like a mini-S-02!

I have T1-R's on the rears and T1-S' on the fronts. Before they were fitted we called Toyo to check whether the setup would be ok. Toyo seemed to think so. Haven't had any problems and I like them a lot.
Got mine approx

I've now got Toyo T1-R all round (on my 16") but I still had S02s on the front for a good while.
I shall be getting T1-R as new rears when I get the 18" volks back on. The T1-S on the front still have plenty of wear left before I change them to T1-R.
PS. I've never had problems getting toyos from black circles.
