Default Mix tyre types?

I know that I should know far better than to ask such a dumb question, but you never can tell.....
I currently have Potenza RE050s fitted to my 2002 model (so R16s). Need new rears urgently and cannot find RE050s but surprise, surprise - I can find a pair of S-02s! Anyone have any positive experience of mixing these tyres front 050s/rear 02s or is this to be avoided like the plague?

Mixing tyres front and back isn't a problem.

S-02s have been out of production for such a long time and there was a specific type made for the S2000. Details should be somewhere in the FAQ.

The only s02s available are the Porsche N3 ftment. These are terrible on the S2000. I took mine off half worn.

If you are desperate for Tyres, I can recommend Faken 452's. Grippy in the wet and dry, and reasonably durable too. They are also more progressive than the Bridgestone IMHO. Hope this helps

Thanks for your suggestion. I guess you have not mixed the types? I only ask because the front tyres still have many 1000s left in them and I am too tight to change all four! Regards

Currently I have four matched tyres, but it's the first time in a while. As eSeM has said, as long as you match the tyres on the axle it's not a problem to change front to back. I certainly had no issues with it.
