I spent the following week at work calling around for quotes, which ranged from

Thanks! After seeing the professional at work today, he explained it takes about a years training to get right up to the job and he services the local garages including a Ferrari/Maserati dealership and has done for the past 8 years.

Would be a great skill to have and to be in he knowledge you stood a decent chance of correcting any dings and dents you receive. And I imagine if there wasnt too much competition in the area you could turn it into a nice little earner.

You can buy the rods on ebay now, they come with a dvd I recollect. Not suggesting it doesnt take skill though. Go on Lee, treat yourself.

I had a similar experience last summer with a chap on the south coast too - think it was Dent Wizard (rather than "Master").

Top job on some pretty nasty dings.

Practice maketh the master!

Years of damaging/having damaged cars, one picks up a lot.

If you ever watched a craftsman make a complex panel with a wooden mallet, you'll be amazed.

After this happened to me before getting on to the ferry for my jollies this year

I called my local Chips Away man. I also used him last year to get a dint out of drivers door. I left the car with him that time and couldn't believe after 20 mins it was sorted
