Worth a quick look in case it was full of condensation, but its pretty common for the idle to go bandy on the S2000 for various other reasons!

Under normal running the filter should be good for quite a while. The AEM is slightly more susceptable to picking up more crap due to its position though,

Funnily enough mine did this, until I fitted a Spoon throttle body, and that seemed to resolve the problem. Not sure, but it might be throttle body/cable related.

It can be the air lines to the TB being blocked as mentioned above.

Simon - did they reset the ECU when they did the AC belt? Would have thought that was only a problem if the AC was running?

No I didn't reset the ECU at the time, have done since I sorted the problem.

The air con clutch spins even when the aircon is off, so when it was jamming it was causing the engine to labour, revs drop or even stall.

You could see the belt stopping for a split second when blipping the throttle from under the bonnet.

We tried various things before just removing the aircon, one was to remove the auxillary belt completely and let the engine attempt to idle.

Ah I get you Simon. Would have thought the alternator would pick up the load, but maybe if it didnt think it was on, it may cause a problem.

Good spot though.
