Edd of EddandSam fame were discussing this once in that on some cold dasy the gearbox can certainly take time to warm up and not feel so "thick". So if you are running the car a lot on small journeys this could become to feel the norm.
Take the car out for a long blast and its a dream.
Then again I am 900 miles of the 36K service and am gonna get the transmission fluid changed as well.

you know..I might be an anorak but I agree..sometimes this car runs like a 1985 Seat Ibiza...can't put my finger on it but it just doesn't sound right
