Starting to gather the bits together for the next stage of this project
Details somewhere in this thread

I need to narrow the tyres when they are worn out.
The fronts are rubbing on the inside and outside edge on the wheel arch liner. So 225 down to 215's
The rears are rubbing on the protective strip on the inside of the wheel arch. So 255 down to 245's

It's corner weighted so varies slightly, but ~30mm

I wonder to what extent this is caused by a particular tyre model width or rim width though? I get no rubbing (it took Chris Franklin to drive it really hard over some really potholed roads to get a single slight rub).

I get more rubbing on the back with the Continentals than I do with the Goodyears. I've always had rubbing on the front since it was lowered.
If I change the rear I ought to change the fronts to keep the stagger.

I could also turn the coilovers up but I like the ride at the moment.

Juan, I'm aware that offset is an issue, but I have no problem with your old SSRs As Mikey has confirmed, different tyre models also have width variations which have an impact.

17" Volks Black Chrome CE28N's (Front-17x7.5 ET+50, Rear-17x9.0 ET+63)
Goodyear F1 GSD3 (Front-225/45ZR17, Rear-255/40ZR17)

Though rears are now Continental SP2's in the above size

One of the best fitting set ups on the S IMHO

My car was also set up by Chris Franklin and also rubbed quite badly on the front (225/45 RE050 tyres, 17x7.5 +48 rims).

I have slighly more negative camber than Mikey, but my car is a couple of mm lower.

I switched back to 215/45 tyres and the rubbing stopped

Never had any rubbing on the back (245/40 +54).

Chris.
