Right just spent the afternoon on the garage preparing for for MASE's visit next weekend
Cleaned the throttle body
Cleaned the air filter
Cleaned the blow off valve
Changed the belt for a smaller one
Changed the plgus from Iridium IK24's to Copper NGK7173
There are comments flying around the IK24's are susceptible to failing. Plus they are expensive so changed to coppers one which I will change each year.
The IK24's did come out in good condition though, no marks on the coil packs all looking good.
No vac leaks
Check the MAP sensor
Started to check the IAVC sensors but then realised it has coolant running to it!
New 3 bar MAP sensor is here ready for MASE to map it on 95 RON so I can go ANYWHERE!

Mikey, you had two tunes last time for normal and super? What was the marginal performance increase of super ? What kind of numbers are you expecting on 95 ron rather than jungle juice 98?
Why are you changing the belt but not the pulley - or are you ?

I never did the 95 tune last time it meant messing around draining the tank.
I have since found getting 98 in N Wales & Scotland and Italy a PITA!
So have decided to tune on 95 for greater flexibility
I'm expecting to get slightly lower or the same.
The belt that was one that came with the pulley but is one size too big.
It was on max adjustment and stating to slip

You could leave it as 98 and keep a few bottles of octane booster in the boot. I used to do this, as do lots of Impreza drivers. Cheaper than a remap!
You do lose a bit of power on 95...
Re the plugs, it's still a rare event but too many have failed for me. Visual condition doesn't tel it all sometimes.

It needs a remap anyway for the 3 bar sensor and a hesitation @ 6k
Bottles of booster won't get me round Europe & Scotland plus they are expensive.
I happy to lose a bit of power for the convenience.

Furry muff.
Not found many places in Europe or Jockland without 98 and for a few quid a bottle, it worked for me. Others had switchable maps which was quite handy.
