Might be moving to the UK
hey guys and gals, i'm a british citizen but i've lived in the US most of my life, and well i'm contemplating on moving to the UK.
and if i do move to the UK i do want to bring my S with me. would this be doable? or will i have problems with saftey regulations, emisions, and other things that the Euro cars have that we don't in the US. such as the headlight washers and the rear fog lights? any info would be great... thanks in advance
ohhh and how can i get one of those UK signature badges in my signature???

Hi
Well, being a British citizen who obviously speaks English, be prepared for all sorts of grief getting back in, let alone bring your S.
But why would you want to bring your S back here. Is it the 2.2 you are in love with? LHD, all sorts of market specific differences etc etc.
There will definitely be lots of official hoops to jump through, none of which I've experienced personally.
The sig thing? No idea.
I'm sure someone will have some answers for you.

i've got an 03 which is a 2.0.. the reason i was thinking about bringing the car over also.. was becuase i've done a few mods to it.... i don't really want to start all over.... and yes i have fallen in love with it..
but on the other hand.. how much do they go for in the UK? roughly? and are they easy to find? or hard to come by?

everything is doable if you have the time and money,
you would be able to import the car duty free to the UK..but need to get an SVA test as a personal import, which might become complicated being a LHD. Shipping and all the various things...even though tax free will be at least $2000 if you do it properly but don't under-estimate the time your car is in either a boat..at a port or being inspected for something.
Then you have insurance for LHD...and finally the value of an LHD will always be a bit lower than a RHD in UK, unless it is a unique spec/colour that is not available in the UK.
