Michelin and bridgstone on the rear
Hi
I have replaced my old S (nicked), with another recently. All appeared ok, but felt a slightly twitchy at the back when booting it, compared to my former vehicle.
I had a looked at the tyres, and to my surprise I have standard bridgstone on the offside, and a michelin (sorry don't know make can post when home) on the nearside at the back.
So is this just odd, or dangerous - and most importantly the source of the unusual behaviour? I put it down at first to road conditions, as it has been damp most of the time recently.
any thoughts?

Almost certainly.
Not dangerous, but not ideal either.
And will definately cause some odd sensations.
Different tyres with differing grip, sidewall stiffness and possibly rolling radius.
Get them matched up asap

Mine had different tyres on the rear when i got it, used to subtlely pull around under accels, along with other strange feelings. Put it down to the different tyres on same axle straight away. Brand new rears made 100% difference. Get em changed!

After an exploding tyre situation a while back I’m quite fussy about my tyres.
When I got my S and one of the tyres didn’t look quite right I replaced all 4 with new ones.
It’s not a massive amount of cash relatively speaking and it gave me a lot more confidence in the car.

The first S I ever drove had the standard Bridgestone's on, and it snaked as I was accelerating and went over a wet drain cover...I seriously wasn't really even accelerating hard, nowhere near VTEC.
My current car has Michelin HP Primacys on and I've never had the back end out in the wet (touchwood) a fantastic all round tire imo.

I presume the tyres came on the car when you bought them, if not and you had one replaced recently I would go back and tell them to exchange the new tyre for an identical one that was originally on the car FOC.
Otherwise I would go and buy another Michelin and another Bridgestone and then just change in pairs.
