Aj, sounds good. I think you did the right thing!

I'm off to the Ring in a few weeks, then Spa, party on

Just ordered a passenger seat rail and will get another BC P1 seat to go with it
I think a wing would make a big difference to the colour of my pants there

Get them off, I was impressed with the difference it made.

I was supposed to goto Spa earlier this year but the bloody track collapsed didn't it

The issue you will have is all that heat into the hubs.

Which is why I have and still do always say: buy some two piece rotors for track.

You are just going to end up doing more costly maintenance in the long term.

You have taken off the brake disc shields I hope?
We had measure the Timeattack DC5 which is using the Dixcel 2 piece FCR slotted disk with R01 pad and the Timeattack CRX using one piece FCR plain disk and same R01 pad last Sunday at Brands hatch.

DC5 front disk got up to 270 degrees and the CRX is at 280 degrees but the CRX is running 330bhp supercharge, DC5 is only running about 270bhp.

So 2 piece disk is not always true that run lower temperature, is how the compound react to the heat.

Ducting is good but don't overkill it, the Timeattack DC5 had to removed the duct as it was running way too cold and never got up to the temperature for the full braking power, Best working temperature is around 250-300 degrees on the disk, best thing is measure up the disk as soon as you pit in with a gauge or you can get the temp sticker to put on the caliper so you can see the max temp straight away, if you see them over 300 degrees then its time to add some ducting.

All good race proven info, Dixon!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing your race S2000.

Do you have any experience with internal engine mods on the S2000, such as cams / strokers / itb's?

There are a few of us wanting to hit 280 ish bhp on NA mods and there isn't any proven methods in the UK. I'm willing to use my car to experiment

Who told you I am getting the S2000??

I have friend in HK just put a set of Toda ITB with Spec B cam in his S2000 without touching the block and made 260bhp, if you need 280 you will have to raise the compression.

He is running AEM EMS and figure from the dyno dynamic.

Spec B cams, high compression piston with port/polish head and ITB should see 280bhp easy.

We do have alot of experience on K20 engine tho, they are very similar to S2000 engine and you can still get 280bhp without ITB on the K series but this will cost you alot of money.

Bigger high compression piston, upgrade rods, full ported head, spec c cams, upgrade valve springs/retainer...etc Is big money we are talking about.

thats why I always say just Supercharge it if you want the power, easiest option.

If you want to go with the Rotrax, don't get the intercooler from them. Get the S-Max intercooler instead because SMax is the only intercooler in the world provide internal cooling with CO2 injection, this can bring 40c degrees of intake temp down. You can just get the stage 1 kit from Rotrax and get 300bhp all day long

Ah, I thought you were getting an S2000 for some reason?

I have 210 bhp atw on mine, a 20 bhp increase over standard with standard internals. I'd hope to see more with cams, and a bit more again with ITB's.

I presume the figures you mention are atw?

That intercooler sounds VERY interesting.

Think I need to come and visit you
