Yep, get a garage to do it

I'd allow a good part of the day to do it. Spray all the manifold nuts with neversieze. Unbolt the black heatshield, then the silver one. Start the car for a couple of mins and get the nuts heated - then get on them. You could do with some ratchet spanners and some extended sockets to get all the nuts. Crack them all and leave them on. Jack the car up both sides, quite high, unbolt the lambda and the manifold mount underneath. It now should be free. Ondo the mainfold nuts now, and lower it down through the car. Fitting is the reverse, although depending on what manifold you put on, it may need to go back in from underneath. My J's one went in though the top. You should replace the gasket on the engine really. I got a new donut one for the cat side with my manifold, but not sure it's essential to replace it really.

The lambda is a real PITA to get off becuase the wiring clip is so hard to get to!

PS - Just weighed the brakes and pads - 27 kg

Those dixcel rotors look EXACTLY the same as the Brakes International items I just fitted.
The BI units have slightly different 'fins' on the inner hub to the oem Honda part , but are identical to those dixcels less the groove machined in them

Makes you wonder, and I now have a very strong suspicion!

Right got the J's intake on at last. Not I job I would want to do again, and I really hope it's bloody worht it!

I had to cut quite a bit off the front of the intake snorkle to get it to fit the 04 bumper, and had to cut a fair bit out of the bonnet.

Here's the bonnet surgery. I have some touch up paint to go on there, and then some nice seal material which STiv5 recommended Should be here tomorrow.

Here's the intake installed..

The only problem I have remaining is the coolant pipes and engine breather hose. I have some new hose to go on for the breather and the vac lines, so that's ok, but the 2 coolant ones have to be replaced too and I don't have any as they are a bit bigger than what I have You can see where the OEM breather pipe doesn't come anywhere near the J's port.

I've tied off the vac solenoid for now and the car won't run until i've fixed the vac pipes etc.

Also went and got my old plate assigned this morning, so I put the plates on (yes I know it needs an adjustment!)

Sounds obvious Steve, but unless they are identical then they are not the same. The fins will be part of the casting process which leads me to believe they are made somewhere else. I do wonder what the material make up of them is though.

Looks like it might have been rubbing on a strut brace?

Chris.

Seems Dixcel do a 2-piece rotor now. Will any fit?

Looks like they are for AP / Brembo calipers.

Adrian, trusty Dremel! It's actually very neat. I used masking tape as a template and cut straight.

That is a reflection in the top pic, it's in perfect order
