What feel gives you is the ability to modulate the brakes closer to the lock up point when the ABS kicks in.
Greatest deceleration is just before the ABS kicks in. The brace makes it easier to get to that point.

Pads make the difference not the brace.
I honestly don't rate this mod, especially for normal road use. This might be different on the track, but I'd concentrate on tyres and pads before wasting money on this brace.
Just my view

Unsurprisingly, i've had both fitted. I've also measured deflection with both fitted.

From memory, 300Newtons gave circa 15mm deflection without the brace fitted.
With the brace fitted the deflection dropped to around 3-4mm, most of which was slightly sideways twist.
Testing was carried out with a car jack braced against the crossmember infront of the driving seat applying force through a digital force gauge and then through a piece of box section tube against the brake pedal.

However, feel is much improved.

You get a lot more feel or feedback through the pedal with the brace which allows you to maximise control over your braking.

If i understand the physics on this correctly, as you apply enough pedal pressure, there is sufficient flex in the firewall and therefore the position of the brake servo to reduce feel between you and it - the flexing of the firewall will remove your ability to get a constant pedal pressure and ultimately less feel for what the brakes are doing.
Ideally you want all of the regulation of brake pedal pressure to be from your foot and the pedal with no other additional factors.
15mm is quite a lot of flex - I didn't think it would be that much, that's another worthwhile simple modification to get, especially around Milton Keynes.

i wasnt expecting such a lengthy thread about a bracket
simple question now though about fitting it... does the end of the bracket touch the master cylinder or is there a slight gap? i presume touching...
