I think this guy has just been very unlucky. I've lived in South Manchester (probably a bit further out than this guy) most of my adult life. I don't know of anyone who has suffered this fate.
I agree he's been unlucky but unfortunately this is not uncommon.

Last week someone on my (old) street had their keys fished out of their hallway.

One of our friends was held up at gunpoint for the keys.

One of my mate's mum was dragged out of her car.

One of my wifes clients was held up at gunpoint (Jewellery mainly).

The local paper carried stories of this every week about 12 months ago.

Someone mentioned this guy lives in Trafford Park. Trafford Park is not South Manchester. It's next to MUFC. There are no police patrols on trafford park. It is next door to Ordsall and Salford. Need I say more.

Yep, I reckon it's harder to pull someone out of a car with the door locked, even if the tops down!
but that doesnt stop the scum who hit the back of your car being careful not to cause to much damage. you have to get out and this is when they beat the shit out of you and take ur car!

Sounds like some sort of anti hijacking kit is needed - you can get some that fill the cabin with smoke. I'm sure it would be easy to change that to deadly nerve gas....
scumbags like this don't deserve any second chances to repeat their crimes!

why would anyone stay somewhere where stuff like that goes on? Don't think htere has been any crime reported where i live in the 6 years since i've been here, we woulnd't put up with that sort of thing. My neighbours still leave their houses unlocked at all times, though even i'm not that trusting.

I believe that there is a system called blackjack which is exactly this Tebs

You hide the buttons somewhere on the car and each tiume you start the ignition you tap in a button code / pattern.

If someone jacks your car they get to drive about 300 yds before it immobilises the engine IIRC

Kelk - Blackjax comes with Clifford Concept alarms - you actually have to do this everytime to door is opened, so if someone pulls you out with the engine still running, the car will immobilise itself after a few hundred yards and set the alarm off.

That's where the real frustration is and it drives me up the wall.

I strongly believe the punishment should fit the crime this.
Hear hear, but you can forget the law

The police are, for the most part, as appalled and perplexed as any of us by the lenient sentences handed out

It's live with it

Or pay to have the job done

If you have a brain you can use, money, no conscience, contacts and patience

There'll be no comebacks

It's sad, but those are your choices at the moment and for the forseeable future

Since most people do not have all of the attributes listed above, it's probably best to concentrate on prevention
