The power loss is pretty technical. You need Brian or someone to explain it, but I don't think it's across the entire power band anyway, I think it's either mid range or top end.

Airbox lid off gives the game away on how much throttle you are using to get past the car on your inside -
I think off-vtec it feels faster and more responsive, especially when cold - but maybe it's just a trick of the noise. I don't know why Honda did not play more with induction sound as it seems most drivers like it.
