Magnatech oil additives
I've tried the search tool on this as i'm sure it must have been asked before but no results.
I have used Magnatech type oil additives in the past and wondered if this is ok in the S, don't want to make a mistake with something like that.
Also, anyone using petrol additives?
Thanks.

Use a good fully synth oil and you wont need additives, waste of time IMO.
Petrol additives / octane boosters are pointless on most N/A cars IMO. Wont give you any real gain. Some of them can coat the plugs etc, but the good ones dont.

Most oil additives use PTFE which eventually builds up on the internals and causes more trouble than its worth.
HOWEVER ZX1 Extralube is bloody marvelous..... it coats all metal surfaces with a friction reducing thingy that doesn't build up and cause damage later. Its not cheap (

I agree there are some good products out there, but you have to question the point. A goog F/S lube will keep the engine very healthy for way over 100,000 miles. The only benefit I can see to some of these addiditves would be if you wanted a massive engine life.
Most of us on here are under the space rocket miles catagory so probably not worth it IMO.
Honda engines are well proven in terms of running big miles, so I wouldnt worry.

they used to do that with slick 50 as well. but just because it will run and not seize with no oil it does'nt mean that its good to have in the engine as well as the oil.
I used it in my S...... before I was getting 23mpg after I got 25mpg and that was thrashing the pants off it at every chance!

What racing teams tell you they put in their engines and what they really do put in their engines are very different
On that topic I shall say no more....
