Right then... all you gossipers...
Gatsos in the 40 limit jc 3-2 are rarely if ever on...
Gatsos in the 60 limit jc 3-2 are on, and sometimes, very rarely matched by plod on the bridge - he might be scamming the westbound traffic where there are no bridges.

Speed freely between jc 4-10, I have in the past year and still have a clean license. Police only spotted in run up to the election.

Cameras between 12-14 are a myth

Cameras in Wiltshire are lasers in Talivans only - sited on bridges. Apparently not seen since the protest.

Once across the Severn bridge SLOW DOWN! Talivan near the toll booths frequently - with STUPID speed limts, but observe them.

Elsewhere in South Wales, speed at your own peril

i drive between junction 10 and 20 on a weekly basis with work.

between 12 and 14 there is regularly a panda car hiding on one of the long bends.

like said by someone, the cameras in the gantry are purely traffic ones, no chance of a ticket from those bad boys.

and the wiltshire bit, iv so far only seen one van since they were brought in. the risk of speeding is always there, and on that bit if your doing above 78 it will be points, but the risk is back to normal levels as far as i know (well hope )

Maybe you shouldn't be breaking the speed limit?

I appreciate the speed limits are utter @rse but shouldn't we direct our outrage at the limits, not at the coppers doing their jobs by enforcing them?
So you never break the speed limit?

I like the vast majority of people in this country make steady progress at 80mph on the motorway when its safe to do so. On the other hand (unlike the vast majority) I do observe urban speed limits very carefully....... the chances of a kid running out on the M25 is rather less than your average 30 limit.

The outrage with the zero tolerance policy in Wiltshire IS against the coppers because everywhere else in the country the police forces are sensible enough to know that turning a blind eye to 80mph is probably better than making everyone stay below 70 (with all the extra frustration and road rage that could cause).

Exactly! It's the policy/law that is wrong, not those who *have* to police it.

PS I have only been down the M4 to Bristol once since the protest, and saw a camera van on a bridge
