Default M2 Seat Rail - Looks Identical to Buddy Club

Hey folks,

Sorry if this is a re-post, I did search the forum and even Google but found no info on the matter.

I'm looking at getting some after market seats, and part of that process of course is Seat Rails.

I have found the M2 Seat Rails that look identical to Buddy Club Seat Rails - whats the crack there?

If M2 and Buddy Club share the design and slap their branding on, that would be an interesting one - as M2 rails are alot cheaper.

M2 Rails

Ignore the fact that the retailer has fitted the side mounts incorrectly!

Buddy Club Rails

Thanks in advance!

Ah, so they do!

What is the consensus - are they copies or actually the same product from the same supplier with different branding?

M2 and Buddy Club boxes even look the same (excluding the BC sleave).

The rails are all generic rails with specific lug mounts welded on. The rails in question, in the kit car world, will cost you £30 for the pair.

Along comes johnny retailer. He buys the rails wholesale (So £18-£20 per pair). Then he gets a company to manufacture the brackets for about £10 per set. So the rails cost them £40/pair and they are all the same rail.

Don't get any illusion that Buddy Club NDT the weld!

My thoughts exactly Ron.

Okay, so best going for the cheapest variant/Brand then.

Are there other alternatives out there? I would not trust the weld quality on those BC rails (or equivalent). Some owners have experienced weld failures.

Same factory produce Tegiwa / Buddy Club. Tegiwa have mentioned that somewhere on here before. Can't speak for the M2 ones though.

Exactly the same. Don't be fooled into buying the Buddyclub ones. Tegiwa and M2 are the same.
