Default To lower or not to lower

Hi,
i'm considering lowering the SA, i feel the ride at the moment is somewhat 'Bouncy' or unstable at times, i'm hoping springs would help this?, i cant afford coilovers.

I have a few concerns/questions if you may.

a) My MY00 S has nearly covered 90k, i'm worried about the shocks not being upto taking springs, seizing up or malfunctioning, and the longevity after fitting springs.

b) I don't want to go any lower than 25/30mm, but will this level of lowering actually do any difference? I will the ride be alot harsher?

c) i'm basically wondering will fitting lowering springs improve cornering and grip ability? and reduce the bounciness and unstableness i mentioned above?

please bear with me as i'm new to lowering on the S.

thanks in advance.

I have 25mm lowering progessive springs on the ITR, I don't like it, aesthetically yes, driving no.

In a word, no. There will be less travel so less bounce per se, but the poorly damped OEM shocks will still be there. It will probably be worse to drive on B roads too. Read the threads I've linked in the bottom of my sig

I'd recommend the Tein Type RA Coilovers (I don't think they do them anymore) but I think the suspension stroke is so much more comfortable than the standard setup. (This is when its set to softest)

If you're going with springs, I'd recommend Espelir. www.espelir.co.jp. Really good quality spring for reasonable money.
