Lower brace
#11
I have not bothered with a lower rear, because I like the way one can throw the back around with the throttle!
I may try one once I change insurance companies - Smelly Pants.com has pissed me off re. mods.

The other thing to consider about stiffening the rear up is it will give you a lot less notice of letting go because it will transfer the load better.
ie stiffer flatter cornering but less notice of the limit!

I've got a Muz whiteline lower front cross brace (agree, made the most difference), Comptech STB and I bought the Comptech rear brace and damn is the rear-end stiffer and the cornering more convincing!
I haven't found there is less feedback when sliding compared to stock, its amplified the harshness when going over bumps and pot-holes though. So with that in mind I'm developing and will be testing a custom made lower rear tie brace in Serptemeber: watch this space.
Still trying to find a Comptech Lower Mid Tie Bar, if anyone knows of anything or if anyone is selling?!!

The lower brace does stiffen the rear up but you get used to the less warning bit and in real world driving can push the car more convincingly through corners.
Nick - you would love the rear tie bar as it lets you control the back end a lot better with the throttle.

Granted - I did not find the harshness amplified more than stock - I found the opposite especially pushing hard on uneven surfaces like road joinings etc.

Perhaps amplified was the wrong word, but theres definately loads more feedback. I'm feeling that with all these chassis mods the S02s are not complimentary...
I'll start a new thread for tyres me thinks!
Anymore feedback on the Comptech Lower Mid Brace?! Anyone?! Anyone?!

Pie - it's a shame you are so far up north otherwise I'd invite you out to a bit of a spirited drive through London streets with E46 M3 and an Evo 7 FQ300. We have to make several shell stop during the night
