Low Revs - Help Me!
Bought second-hand S2000 last Saturday (1999-V).
Drives fine but if in neutral and revving it, the revs fall to 200 rpm before recovering. Also need some serious revs for reversing, cuts-out easily.
Any ideas? Going to Slough Honda a week Saturday (already begun saving up for this visit).
Look forward to hearing from anyone who has had a similar problem but found a solution.
Cheers.

I have to give mine around 2000/3000rpms to reverse without risking a stall unless it's on a totally flat surface
If you are new to the S2000 the wider rev band does take some getting used to. I regularly use 2000/3000rpms to move off in 1st gear to get a smooth getaway

also, as it's new to you won't be used to the noise yet. I stalled mine loads when reversing when I got it. if you look at the rev counter you'll see that you're not revving as much as you thought whilst parking - then you'll hit the car behind as you should be looking where you're going

Check the air cleaner.
Mine did this. Eventually it refused to idle. Air cleaner was original (mine is also a 99V) but I'd only done 13k miles. Honda change the air cleaner at 27K but mine was the source of the problem at just 13k. It is quite a cheap thing to try so start there. If it doesn't fix it you can use the filter later on....
