Come to a dyno day. Interesting to compare yourself against other similar cars.

As I've said before, you'd get more consistent results doing some data logging with a decent GPS and phone app.

A few specified runs from one speed to another (20-65 in 2nd, 30-90 in 3rd where this is allowed) would allow for simple comparison between cars and different modifications on a single car.

If you already have a smartphone, it'd work out a lot cheaper too.

One of these is really all you need: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Qstarz-BT-Q8...starz+bt-q818x

You can get a bluetooth OBD2 reader for extra info if you want rpm data etc http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_...luetooth%20obd

Want to go on a different day, with more s2ks as there wasn't anything really to compare against (GTR, RS6, DAX AC, you know normal cars with not much bhp =p)
Anything coming up?
Cheers lovegroova, shall add it to the next months budget =]

Most phones have GPS, why do you need that? Accuracy?

Yep, most phones are 1Hz, so not much use for that sort of thing.

Hmm I want to know more about how this works, how do you combine the two things you linked to?

They connect via Bluetooth to the phone (note you need different devices if you have an iPhone as Bluetooth doesn't work properly on that).

Then an App such as
Torque https://play.google....rowl.torquefree or
Racechrono https://play.google.....racechrono.app or
Harry's Lap Timer (also available on apple) https://play.google....harrys.laptimer

You can then record various speed runs and look at the data on a PC. http://racerender.co...ucts/index.html

With something like RaceRender, you can combine with video to do this sort of thing:
