I once ran mine to zero and did about 30 miles with no fuel bars, had 320 miles out of the tank and still only got 47 litres in.

Karen complains that the one on her Civic is getting increasingly paranoid too!

It must be a Honda thing.

Fuel gauge is very tempermental. The other day I had 3 bars and no light. Turned the car back on 10 mins later and had zero bars. I thought the 3 bars was more correct and drove home (45 miles) filled up 290 miles on the trip and still only got 45 litres in it!!

Nothing to worry about, mine comes up either when 1 bar is left or 2 depending Honda know what. Best to keep an eye on the distance you do and fill it up before the light comes up. I always do that for another reason; I prevent dirt from the tank to go to the fuel injectors. depending where you live and on your local gas station if his tanks are dirty you willget particles in your petrol so better safe than sorry.

I've managed to get 49.8l in - don't forget that you have extra capacity in the fuel lines and tank inlet.

I try not to run the tank too low for the same reason as posted earlier, don't fancy crap getting into injectors etc. Though I'd imagine with modern fuel filters this shouldn't be an issue?!
