The S2 (Toyota engined) version tested recently (in mags)is one I would go for...Autocar glossed over the fact that their S1 was one of the most unreliable, uncomfortable (massive heatsoak, no A/C or roof to take off!) originally fast depreciating cars they had....the depreciation though reversed in a matter of months and it became a highly sort after car.... (methinks some professionals may have originally paid top dollar and got a car you cannot live with day to day & there was a lot of early moving on ...IMHO).

Really would have an S2 version if I had a family saloon...and oh aye could afford it!

Saw a S1 take a huge roundabout at ridicoulous speed up here..he must have been a bit of a hand...I was lifting off just watching him go....awesome!

They are fantastic cars, superb power to weight ratio and excellent balance, with the new Celica engine and it's poverty version of VTEC it goes like snot off a stick as well!

Bit basic inside for my liking though, don't think this new version comes with A/C either does it? After all it is supposed to be a race car not a tourer. Looks the nuts though

I'd swap my S for a new one

Yip AC available. Corolla version of the engine as well bud

What I thought was more interesting also about the S2 Exige it the toyota engine is easily (& regularly in Japans Corolla) turbocharged to knock out >230 Bhp & 190lb/ft of Torque (~8K & 6.5K) in place of ~190BHp & 148lb/ft.

Can you imagine that in the Exige!!...still no room for my kids though!

Would love to drive one, but I don't think I would fit (width ways) - or if I did, I would never be able to get out again.

Would miss the soft top too much anyway .
