I remember reading somewhere they up the tyre pressure to run a dyno, can't remember why or to what pressure, I know nothing about dynos, this just stuck in my head.
Correct, you can in theory cheat the power figures by manipulating tyre pressures depending on dyno type.

However at 30psi this isnt the issue.

Normally they do, to about 35-40 psi but doesn't make a huuuuuge difference. It's really to prevent slip, which you can often see on a dyno curve.

Well there you go, for once I might have been right, unfortunately not in this instance. Strange the plots almost follow each other as if there is something affecting the print run, ok not very well put, I was expecting the power loss to be at max power not throughout the run.?

If it was my car, I'd be doing a compression test just to rule out a dying engine.

Drop the sump and check for metal in there unless you have a magnetic sump plug

So take it out and look for metal filings on it.. (if you have a spare one, swap them over quickly so you don't have to do an oil change or refill)

I think for a lack of power with no electrical fault/logic behind it would be due to bearings on the crank..

The car had had a service the day prior by Tom, I'm sure he would have mentioned it to me if he had spotted something.

I'm getting it looked at later today hopefully so maybe something will come up then.

If the engine runs fine, drives the same and the power and torque curves are the same as before, just lower down the scale, the prime culprit would have to be the dyno.

I hope you don't spend time and money chasing this small corsa's worth of power that i suspect you'd have noticed if you'd really lost.
