I thought I would check this morning but it seemed to take an absolute age to get higher than one bar at 5°C.

By the time I had three bars I was sat in traffic

They should have fitted an oil temp gauge in these cars, I used to watch the one in my CRX like a halk before taking it past 3500rpm.

As mentioned above, warm water doesn't mean warm oil

However, I didn't know these had a 6k cold rev limit. Interesting.

On these cold mornings its taking me approx 10 miles to get my oil up to around 70C, much longer than you would think.

I had 3 bars on the temp gauge when my engine cut out. I thought this was ok at the time
