Default Loose Hood Striker Plate

My RH striker plate has come loose after a trip to Swansea and the supply and fit of an excellent new hood by Jack Smith. I've read a lot of posts about this problem and it seems just a question of tightening the bolts - right? But the first step seems to be to prise out the interior light and i'm really struggling. I cant get at the far side properly because the mirror is in the way. I can get a couple of screwdrivers in the near edge, but despite pulling a gap of 15-20mm it just won't pop out and i'm starting to butcher the trim. Is there some other fixing i'm missing? Any hints? Thanks.

Yes - unclip the lens from the light housing and unbolt the housing from the car before you break it.

Thanks. All done now. I hate messing with trim, but this is really quite straightforward when you know how.

On Thursday I rang and asked Raymond if it was OK to evo-stick a couple of patches of vinyl on the inside to protect the vulnerable area that rubs the hood frame. (I did that on the old hood and it worked OK, but unfortunately i did it after the material had already worn through). He said it would be fine and he promised to send me an offcut of the actual material to use. Sure enough, it arrived today in a jiffy bag. It's early days with the new hood, but it looks great and he really seems a top bloke. Talks a bit too!
