I bought some engine bay detailing stuff; one squirty can for cleaning and another for shining. Then, when I opened up the packaging it said to be sure to cover up all electrical bits and pieces before using - so I've bever got around to using it. If I did, though, maybe mine would look like that.
Whose is it? And what did they use?.......... Leggy

Pete - all the AG says to do is to avoid directing water at air intakes and electrical components (so put your air box cover back on!!). Recommends that you cover vulnerable items with plastic film.
I finished off by spraying the wet engine with AG Vinyl & Rubber Care as it 'enhances and protects'. You just let that dry and it gives the above finish.
Check out http://www.autoglym.com - it gives full instructions there!
How I'm so looking forward to be asked tomorrow at work what I did at the the weekend - er, well I cleaned my engine..... They're going to think I've gone absolutely nuts. Obsessive is not the word.........!
