No - thanks for passing on the info, Rob.

I couldn't agree more with those tributes on PH.

I too shall sadly miss his writing.

Another large, intelligent character has left us.

As they said on PH
Gandalf drove a Honda Prelude
Like much of his writing - not sure I understand, but I feel I agree anyway.

LJKS is sadly missed

One of the last journalists who understood the engineering behind the car, as opposed to the marketing rubbish the car companies would have us believe.

Sadly missed.

'Speed is a matter of how you use your brain. Driving in the end is not about the skills because dependence on skills is terribly immature. It's really about judgement and intelligence and so long as your brain can go faster than your going at any time, you're all right and it isn't fast.' - L J K Setright

I feel really bad now - I thought he'd died some years ago! I must have got him confused with someone else....

Having returned recently from a business trip abroad I was saddened to read that the great LJK Setright died on the 7th September. (Forgive me if this is a re-post, but the search engine did not throw up any reference to this, which means not a whole lot I know!)

I grew up reading LJK's unusually eloquent column in Car magazine, and as my interest in Honda's grew, so did my empathy with LJK's writing.

He shared the interests and values of many here - primarily a love of fine engineering - most especially the values of Honda (he loved the NSX, S2000 and drove a 2.2 Perlude VTEC at the time of his death), and hated all things diesel - the crudity of the engines, the emisions and the danger presented to motorcyclists by split diesel.

He was also famous for his loathing of, and contempt for, speed limits......

The world is a poorer place IMHO.
