Lightweight Wheels
#13
Lighter wheels should help to improve the lumpy damping.
Comparisons are impossible, since nearly eveyone changes the diameter, requiring a (harsher) lower profile tyre of a different design. Since the width in increased, returning some weight and the offset is nearly always wrong, any comparison is probably meaningless.
Unless, of course, you can pursuade two people running identical tyres, one with heavy bling rims and one with lightweights, to run back to back, swap wheels etc.

I'm not normally a fan of aftermarket wheels but I must admit they look (on Lou's car anyway, not that yellow monstrosity with the ironing board on the back)

Basically I had decided that it was a worthwhile option if I'd gone the 350Z route. But in the end it just didn't feel as nimble as the S2000 which is why I went that way.
Just my 2p.

There!
That's what I'd expect it to feel like. Nice description!
Mind you, are the widths & offset the same on both 350 Z wheels?
(Rhetorical question, I really do not expect Chilled to know off the top of his head!)

At the end of the day, unsprung weight is the true enemy to happy ing

It's just that on my 2nd MX-5, the alloys were 1/2" wider.
I dunno if it was the lack of PAS or more torque, but breakaway was transmitted much clearer and was easier to control. The whole car felt much more driveable, just as you describe with the 350.
The Jordan Civics are also just a little sharper than the VTis for the same reason.
