Default Lexus SC430

It's amazing what turns up on Arran. Last year I had a Ferrari 360 Modena parked outside the house and yesterday I had a long chat with a guy with one of these.

He was dead impressed with the S2000 (unfortunately I didn't have my camera to show off both cars) and we looked over each others cars fairly comprehensively as the hoods were both down. The Lexus is a 2+2 and has 280bhp. The finish of the interior was extremely good and there were significant additions such as cruise control and so on.

Funny thing was, though, that the Lexus driver was obviously a little envious about certain things on the S2000. The lines are better, the headlamps neater, the S's seats are actually more comfortable (we both agreed on that) and the performance is "similar". Aside from the extras and the folding metal roof, you've got a car costing

Bev`s boss has one of these. Bev reversed the carp mobile into it. The estate has the scratches on the bumper to prove it.

He said `ah no worries, only a car, it`ll get sorted`......

I *hate* loaded people. They make me green!

Jammy sod.

I saw one the other day and hated it. Horrible and bulbous, and looked to me like a pipe and slippers cruiser rather than a drivers car. Am I wrong in thinking the back, looks like a Hyundai coupe?

Each to his own.

I don't think that it's too ugly.

I test drove one last year (just for the crack)...... I didn't like it at all...... it was fast enough in a straight line (still didn't feel as quick as the S) but was crap round corners...... very sit up and beg driving position and lots of body roll.

I think they look ok with the top down - not pretty, but at least it's distinctive. Couldn't mistake that face with any other car around. They've suddenly become popular around these parts over the last couple of months - seeing more and more of them about.

My Mum's got one - she had one of the first models.

Its burgundy colour - not a racer but not designed to be.
The car is far more impressive in real life than photos.

Hers is going in soon to have a few alterations (paid for by Lexus) - from how she described it, its much like the S's revised '02 geometry.

There's no comparison in terms of performance - it feels like the S2000 would beat the Lexus under any conditions. The 280bhp has to pull much heavier car.
