Great photos ste. Very useful indeed, especially the one that shows the damage to the bolster itself. I never thought the bolster would tear like that. In theory you could fill that tear with some more foam as a quick/temporay fix

Also what's the thinking behind the metal bar? Are you making some kind of lowered seat rail?

I have also done what some members have done and tried to repair the bolster with a bit of foam. I wasn't impressed with the finshed result though. Like the picture above I had the same damage, I cut a piece of foam the same shape and packed it into the split. The end result made the bolster look fatter, and I slighty different shape.
It looked better than before but it's not perfect

you need to cut an old car sponge and duct tape in place so it looks the same and is nice and solid - and swap the sides over like i said !

just the standard denting the seat base thing, but i'm making an internal spacer so i can easily reverse it bar will be cut up so it's just bigger than the spot welds, it's just easier to work on with a bit piece

Thread resurrection

Great guide, I just have one or two questions for Ste Nova.

My bolster is flat, the foam is undoubtedly knackered.

I'm going to repair the foam like you did, I noticed that you seem to have used small zip ties to reinstall the leather instead of the OEM hog clips? Did this work ok?

Also it terms of swapping the foams, did you also swap the leather from passenger side to drivers?

Any info appreciated I'll take some pics when I do it.

Ben.
