I have also done what some members have done and tried to repair the bolster with a bit of foam. I wasn't impressed with the finshed result though. Like the picture above I had the same damage, I cut a piece of foam the same shape and packed it into the split. The end result made the bolster look fatter, and I slighty different shape.

Great guide, I just have one or two questions for Ste Nova.
My bolster is flat, the foam is undoubtedly knackered.
I'm going to repair the foam like you did, I noticed that you seem to have used small zip ties to reinstall the leather instead of the OEM hog clips? Did this work ok?
Also it terms of swapping the foams, did you also swap the leather from passenger side to drivers?
Any info appreciated I'll take some pics when I do it.
