Having gone to such lengths to protect the seals I dont want to use a cleaning product that will affect the rubber where it touches the glass. Does anybody have any advice on what to use to clean off said stains ?
Cheers

Use something that'll evap. real quick. Nail Varnish remover or the other stuff which I've got a tin of but can't remember it's name ethinol or similar.
Just don't close the doors until the glass is dry.
That seemans stuff is great and the doors stuck shut now.

Interestingly, in the dealership recently and asked about silicone stuff as my roof leaked a little while back.
He reckoned that a car that's only a year old should not need it.

Just a quick question, you haven't been using any Rain-X like product on your windows?
If you use these products keep them well away from the edges of the windows where they'd meet the seals.

As usual the dealer is way off the mark here. The Shin Etsu/silicone grease is more of a preventative measure than a cure.
