Default Leaking roof

Cars really grinding my gears at the moment.

When I first bought the car, no issues what so ever with leaks, over the past month or so, I might aswell not have bothered with a shower in the morning...

Its leaking/gathering in the drivers side upper forward seal, so when I put the roof down and it gets half way, my shoulder gets soaked.

The only thing I've thought of so far, is that actually roof itself.

When I bought it, the water used to bead and run off altogether, in the same effect as waxed paintwork, for some reason or another it doesn't any more and soaks up like a sponge... and now I assume it's gathering in that seal...

I don't know what material my roof is made of, I assume is vinyl? as it has like a plasticy feel to it.

Is there a product you can use to seal/make water bead again?!

cheers in advance!

Sounds like the seal needs replacing, or remove it dry it out and cover it in grease (like shin-etsu)

Hiya Tom,
UncleFester (Patrick) on here was able to fix his problem, almost exactly the same issue you are having via his DIY method ... I will find the link for you and post it.

I was also able to fix mine by a nice long run over to Jack Smiths of Swansea (a much shorter run for you I think ) the roof cost £260 for me ... not sure that it cost UF anything but time and patience.

Here is the link

I to have had issues with unwanted showers for a few months now! Have come to the decision that the roof is knackered and needs replacing so it's booked in for replacement at jack smiths in Swansea! For £260-£280 I would recommend that as a quick fix if all your seals look ok.
