Car was looking great, I was feeling good, weather was dry

Blag flagged after three laps for being too noisy. End of day!

I managed to blag a ride in a 964 RS and 996 Carrera 2 and drove a Clio V6 (slow), looked after by one Scott Stringfellow, the son of the guy with the worst hair in Britain and hired a Elise 135 Sport for 30mins (great fun).

Took a few photo's a the cars there with digital camcorder, so the quality is not great but here they are:

Both the 360's were running standard exhausts. Sounded great but weren't that fast, or should I say were not driven that fast. A green Caterham was the fastest thing there but the nicest car was one of the three 996 GT2's which had a carbon kitted dash, carbon buckets, fat exhaust, half cage and fire extinguisher, factory upgrade to 500bhp and sat really low on its rims (car no:53).

Is that a Strathcarron? Bit of a rarity, how did it go? I've heard some very disappointing reports about them (and seen a couple for sale recently) - I'm wondering if they're not all they were cracked up to be.

Yes it was a Strathcarron and I only saw it start up once and never saw it on the track. Not keen on it.

John

I passed the 4000rpm static test (limit 101DB) but for most cars that is three qaurter revs where on S2000 it is less than half. With my exhaust, once you hit VTEC it is loud and I was told I hit 92DB on the drive by test (limit 88DB!). I have a bolt in silencer but only scraped past the static, now 6000rpm for me and failed the drive by with an unbelievable 93DB. Every 3DB is twice as loud so I was over double the limit.

It was a shame as the one timed lap I had was 3:04:03 and I reckon high 2:50's were well within my grasp (with the

Max,

I still find that really stupid as Palmer used to run S2000's up until this year so they should have been aware of the RPM limit of the Honda......

Your lap time sounds pretty good, next time, let me know when you are going (with the standard exhaust) and I will tell you where the monitors are :-)
