Default Last S2000 to be made?

Was at my local Honda dealer yesterday getting the brake fluid changed and took the opportunity to have a look at the S2000 (final version) that they had in the showroom.

I was shocked to discover that I hated it
It looked..........cheap and nasty. I never thought I would ever see a S2000 that I didnt like, but here it was!
It just didnt seem to gell as a car, the dark grey wheels really didnt help against all that white bodywork. The side badges in black? not sure. The front and rear chrome badges with the H in skeleton form looked cheap. The whole car just didnt impress and they wanted 29K for it!!
Comparing it against MY01 in Silver was no contest, my car makes me smile every time I see it, this 'new' version, oh dear.
Probably just me, but does anyone else agree?

I'd rather visit Bob Gerard and get one that looks like the limited edition (if it is the limited edition) and pay

Partly, it's the 'tarted up' look with the fiddly lights and over-working of the details on the later models. Aresholing bits of the interior with silver paint is a bit Ripspeed. It makes many 'Modern' cars look utter shit.

Some mugs will pay the extra seven large over an import though...

My 03 drove like a dream, but I much preferred the wheels, exterior and interior of my 06.

PS I hate the 08 version too, the wheels are terrible.

Just looked at the brochure there and it looks alright, although there was only one exterior pic. If ye want to give out about prices here's the price on Honda.ie for a standard Irish S:

Cheers for the heads-up on the MY08!

FWIW, the perceived wisdom here is that the MY08 is the best S2000 since the original. (As it also is that the 'final edition' S2000 is the worst S2000 yet - not least cos of the dog's dinner white over red - but each to their own eh! )
