Kerbed Alloy

Kerbed Alloy
I kerbed my front 05 Diamond cut alloy a few months ago in the floods of the South west (I hit the submerged kerb whilst doing a 3 point turn to avoid a rising river) and tonight I did it again! Lapse of concentration negotiating a sleeping policeman and graunched the same wheel against the kerb. So annoyed with myself. I have since tried to polish the former scuff out with a bit of wet and dry and Scratch X but it's actually dulled the original diamond cut finish so looks rubbish. I'm wondering if anybody has had any success fixing these scuffs themselves? I have a Megs G220 random orbital and lots of polishes etc, failing that, can anybody recommend a decent re-furbing company near Bristol that can do the diamond cutting the same as the OEM?
Many thanks.

It's invariably light deliberate kerbing to avoid wagons with me. WTF are kerbs precisely the same height as sidewalls?
You will need a Dremel buffer & Autosol to get the shine back & then clearcoat to stop it dulling again.

Thanks, I will have a play tomorrow with my range of Menzerna polishes, Scratch X an Megs G220 and see how it looks. Failing that I'll try a dremel. I quite fancy getting one of those anyhow.

I have used Platinum Alloys in Swindon to refurb a single diamond cut wheel on my VW. They were spot on in matching the finish and you can't tell it from the others. Very friendly team, right next to the Outlet Centre!
