Default K&N induction kit fitted, MOT due

Hi there, I fitted my K&N induction kit, and it sounds wonderful. Can't feel any more pickup though. I have 2 questions that I can't find on the search.
1) Will I need to put it back to stock for it to pass the MOT?
2) WHen fitting there was one pipe from the solenoid that didn't reconnect to anything, is this normal?

thanks, and sorry if this is answered somewhere else

Whenever you do home mechanics it is compulsory to have some bits left over. Don't worry about it, this is totally normal.

Mark, thanks so much for these links. I'd seen them somewhere before but couldnt get the search to work. Found my mystery hose problem, thanks to the photos. If you're ever in Newbury, there's a drink for you here!
