JVC steering remote connection?
I have a JVC KD-R821 head unit which I'm fitting in a Honda S2000. This unit supports a steering remote, but doesn't have a jack connector at the rear for this purpose. Instead, there is a single blue wire in the loom labelled "steering control" and the end is plastic-covered.
I've purchased the relevant Autoleads PC99-JVC patch lead with a single wire interface(rather than the 3.5mm jack plug), but can't work out the best way to connect it to the wire from the head unit. The wire from the patch lead has a red sleeve/connector on the end of it, suggesting that it expects a similar connector on the cable from the head unit.
I could simply strip the plastic from the end of the wire from the head unit, insert it into the connector on the PC99-JVC and tape the two together to secure them, but I'm sure this can't be the recommended way of doing it?
