i've had 35mpg out of the S on a long run with lsb installed and on full volume which would equate to about 350 miles on a tank with 5 litres in reserve

my vectra i've done over 700 miles on a tank in a tank, as it were, but that car does over 55mpg and has a bigger tank

They'll catch you one of these days! Most garages have cameras.

Eh? If your filling up with UK gallons why would you want to do the maths in US?

Eh? When was the last time you filled up with Gallons as the unit of measurement? Last I checked the unit of measurement was litres.

There is no such unit of measurement as a UK Gallon, there is a US Gallon and the Imperial Gallon.

MPG is reported by the companies as mpg not MPUSG or MPIMPG which of course has a totally different value. So my question is perfectly valid.
